Sonoma Funeral Home serves families in and around Winnemucca, Nevada, including all 9,658 square miles of Humboldt County, as well as parts of the neighboring counties, Lander and Pershing, totaling approximately 11,650 square miles of the beautiful high desert “cowboy country” of Northern Nevada.

The funeral home in Winnemucca, Nevada, was founded in 1915 as ‘Eddy Funeral Parlor’ and was operated by Edna Eddy, a nurse and mortician. Edna is credited as the first female embalmer in the state of Nevada. Edna’s son, Hallie, became an active partner in the business in 1926, and the name was changed to ‘Eddy & Son Funeral Home’. The present location of Sonoma Funeral Home was built by Ed Reinhart in 1913 and served as their family home until the great depression, when he sold the property to Edna Eddy in 1930, where it remains Winnemucca’s only funeral home.

In 1987, the business was sold and renamed ‘Albertson Funeral Home’. In 2014, Kevin Stiles and Dan Roberts of Janus Advisors in Chico, California, purchased the funeral home and renamed it ‘Sonoma Funeral Home’.

Funeral Director Kailynn Yetter locally manages Sonoma Funeral Home. She is assisted by Funeral Arranger, Ludivina Angeles, and Removalist, David Baxter.
